Suga ‘Scottie’ Owens from the Sunshine Coast of Queensland has his roots in 1950s rock and roll with his regular outfit, The Hi-Boys.
One half of the rock’n’roll recipe is country and hillbilly and this is where Suga Owens and his band shine. Owens’ song writing is inspired by traditional honky tonk and country with influences ranging from Dale Watson to George Jones.
Suga Owens’ debut single “Stay A Little More” soared to the Top 10 of the Australian Country Radio chart upon its release in May 2018.
Slim Gritty are a well-honed trio of rockabilly masters who perform an energetic style of new and original rockabilly.
Leading the way on guitar and vocals is Tim Collett, founding member of The Convertibles and lead songwriter and bassist in A Band Called Twang. With Tim on guitar, upright bass maestro Jon Flynn takes over slap bass duties and Pistol Pete Green features on stand up drums.
Slim Gritty’s songs tell stories, performed in the key of life, sometimes funny and always catchy. See you on the dance floor.
B-Daddy and the Double D's
B-Daddy & the Double D’s are a high energy rockabilly trio who wear their influences on their rolled up sleeves, taking inspiration from The Reverend Horton Heat, The Stray Cats, Eddie Cochran to old school AC/DC.
Formed in 2017 the trio feature Brad Tabe on upright bassist and vocals, David Kume on guitar and Dave Prout on drums. Together they are fuelling their passion for rockabilly and love to blow the roof off the house with some fast paced rockers, or lighten it up a little with some Johnny Horton style boppers.
The trio are fast gaining fans across South East Queensland with their action packed set list for those who like to shake a leg to rockabilly with a bit of kick.
The Linelockers are an authentic rockabilly trio based in northern New South Wales.
Boasting an impressive variety of high energy roots rock n roll, rockabilly and honky tonk songs, their grass roots approach to traditional rockabilly and honky tonk standards along with authentic original material are sure to keep the dance floor boppin'.
