A Band Called Twang
Twang are tip of the top in the rockabilly scene in Australia.
Hailing from the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Twang burst onto the rockabilly scene with exuberance, excitement and a musical ability that is sweeping people off their feet. Their original repertoire combines roots music styles, rockabilly and Americana with their own indelible style.
Twang has a rich pedigree including Tim Collett, founding member of The Convertibles, Maree Gwynne, multi-award winning country music performer and 'Smokin' Dan Fargo, a highly acclaimed guitar picker.
In 2015 Twang released their debut album ‘Rockabilly Girl’ and will be unvieling their follow up album ‘Rootin Tootin' in 2017, much to the delight of their nationwide legion of fans.
The Hi-Boys are a high-energy 4-piece Australian rockabilly band making waves across the world.
Since forming 3 years ago, The Hi-Boys have quickly clocked up runs on the board with their gigs across Australia, Europe and the USA.
The Hi-Boys are signed to American rockabilly label 'Wild Records' releasing the album 'Shake', a fiery and bold disc packed full of punch. Also just out of the can is a new single 'Can't Fool Me' on vinyl.
The Hi-Boys' sound is tough and raw, very much encapsulating the earliest rumblings of rock'n'roll and they stand and deliver with an intensity that is rare and infectious.
Little Billy is a blues, roots, and rockabilly band with influences from Ruth Brown, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Etta James, and Janis Martin.
The Brisbane four piece play upbeat originals and covers from the 1950s Chicago blues era.
Little Billy will get you on your feet and rocking into the early hours.
On stage, you can see Zac Jones ripping it up on lead guitar, Dale Berrands slapping his old upright bass, and of course, the inimitable Tahnee Sarah on rhythm guitar and vocals.
"We play from the soul and we love doing what we do!"
Lovejoy Surf resurrect instrumental hits from the 50s and 60s for a foot stompin' good time.
Lead guitarist, Arnold Lovejoy, was playing these 1960s tunes back when they were known as 'new releases'.
His musical offspring Jeff (guitar) and Kylie (bass), both solid identities in the Australian music scene, have joined their dad for a special surf music showcase. Expect to hear songs such as Apache, Bombora, Hawaii Five-O, Pipeline, Peter Gunn and more!
The Lovejoy Surf show is a hit whenever they play as audiences thrill to the sounds of the surf.
The Haymakers are a 4-piece Americana roots band blending a mix of rock'n'roll, swing and hillbilly blues.
Hailing from Brisbane, they have built a strong following and a reputation for putting on a great show. Three members sharing the lead vocal duties gives The Haymakers a versatile and changing sound throughout their set.
Their two twanging guitarists (with one doubling up on saxophone) are backed up by a solid driving rhythm section.
All of this in the mix make The Haymakers a band not to be missed.
